looking ahead...who are the race snakes?!

batch H got some interesting returnees, none other than 3 time champ Tim James.

otherwise i think it's quite an open race this year

Shite I should have been racing......

Got 4 names :

  • Tim James
  • Mike Woolnough
  • Gawie du Plessis
  • Theo van Dyk

Mike will race Tim, I believe Gawie will be a different racer on a bike with gears and Theo have tasted what real racing is about last year with Tim and he might just be the danger man, that is to say if he doesn't eat biltong from another box near the finish.......

 2017  ja right

Please DirtRider, don't knock Marnitz' aspirations  ;)

Marnitz is going on a part-time after hours Barista course (that's what he means by serious training) The random pop-up coffee stop tradition has to continue.

Can anyone please shed some light on the RTR sections where navigation is trickiest? i.e. where most people make mistakes/get it wrong.

I'd like to make sure my mental models of these sections are properly in place...

Appreciated!

Talk of the Tim, going to say it here that in the race between the two Tims, Tim Deane will take it.

Why?

Because tin James moved batches, clearly he isn't racing for the win

Because Tim Deane is a good navigator and is super fit right now, he won Wartrail earlier in the year. Don't believe me get your door watching going next week. (ps. Johan, any chance of there being a coffee shop other side of the pass this year?)

Tim James is racing the 6th blanket record at race pace, while racing Mike and trying to stay ahead of Theo van Dyk which will only improve his pace.

Has Tim Deane ever done a RASA, if not history shows us he might be fast but no contender on his first RASA.

The coffee shop ran into franchising problems......and then the owner got called out on DWK duty. Alas, not this year.
