I must admit I am rather surpized that PPA members were awarded 5000 slots yet no slots were awarded to club 21 members or rider who had done 10 or more Cape Town Cycles tour - previously known as The Cape Argus Pick ’n Pay cycle tour. One would think the Cape Town Cycle tour would give prefrential treatment to those who have supported the event for a number of years. What a lot of successful commercial companies do with loyalty programs.

On the flip side maybe PPA need to try and get road cyclist to joint them by offering something - as currently they don’t offer their road members much!

so if you did not register, you cannot get in any more ?

oops, a bit late on this one ...

no parently the nonPPA fools like myself still get to enter later...

plan on riding tandem with my Dad, he's never ridden a bike yet, but he's done some running back in the day, a few marathons and comrades, I'm sure it will be a great accolade for him, being he will be turning 70 next year too...

problem is sourcing a tandem

I agree with you, but at least you get better much odds in the lottery if you did many Arguses - so I would be surprised if someone with loads of past tours do not get in when the entries open to the rest of the public

Meezo, MAKE this happen!

I played domestique for my dad the year he turned 70 and it was the experience of a lifetime! Watch the classifieds like a hawk, sometimes good old tandems come up for a few thousand rand. They don't lose value and you can sell it later for much the same money.

this is retarded, cannot believe that anyone with a brain cell can think up such a system.  People travel all over SA and go to the CTCT in groups.  What if you get an entry and your mates don't?  That makes for a pretty shitty weekend.

thumbs down organizers, thumbs down!

Now that my whole team is in, I think it works wonderfully   :whistling:  ;)
