So I'm about to order the new XT M8000 11 Speed kit from CRC, just one issue, they have the crank in two difference sizes.

48.8 and 51.8, like what is that all about, what determines CHANINLINE length

boost or non boost, I think. The Boost version moves the flanges outboard by 3mm each side. Means the chainline moves by 3mm as well.

You'd need the 48.8mm then, if you're not running BOOST 148 hubs

The FC-M627 is a 2-speed crank with a 38-24 gear ratio. The 2-piece construction was also matched to Shimano's High-End components. The chain line amounts to 48.8 mm and the Q-factor is 176 mm.

Only for BSA bottom brackets with 68 or 73mm shell width.

Compatible with super narrow HG-X 10-speed chains only.

B-Version for Boost 148 Standard

The B-version of the FC-M627 offers a chain line with 3 mm outboard for hubs / wheels with 148 mm (RW) over locknut distance from current Plus-Bikes. It requires special frame dimensions where cassette position and FD mount position are 3 mm outboard. These frames are only compatible with E-Type and Direct-Mount front derailleurs.

Why did you not buy local?? No ways CRC are cheaper than us at R20 to the pound...

The issue is warranty, even if CRC is more expensive you have a worry-less purchase.

Any local warranty and you have to take your broken part back to the supplier, wait weeks as the part is sent back to the agent, if you are lucky you get a warranty, im so over this.

With CRC you send them an email and 24-48 hours later they refund you back into your account no questioned asked.

I think CRC have a depot at JNB customs, I have ordered small bleed kits to a wheel set, I have received all within 7 days or less, it is no longer an option to buy local, unless its tyres.

A 2 year warranty is offered with all Shimano products from Chain Reaction Cycles (3 years on Dura-Ace and XTR products).

Buy Shimano Components from Chain Reaction Cycles, the World's Largest Online Bike Store.

Case in Point.

My Training partner has his Yellow and Black Rocky Mountain in your Shop, Evo Bikes, since 6th August, his top of the range XTR shifter, less than a year old has seized.

On Thursday the 13 August he goes into your shop to ask on the progress, he is informed that Shimano would like to inspect the part and that it needs to be shipped to the agent in JNB,the part, a week later is packaged and waiting to be send, one can just imagine how long he will be without this shifter.

When an Shimano braked seized I email CRC on a Thursday, on Saturday the refund reflected into my account, that is service, its become the benchmark

Why is he without a bike and why will he be without a bike for a few more weeks, simple, he made the mistake of buying locally.
