Just a quick Question about the Loskop Marathon. Is it possible to leave after I finished the race. Don't want to sit there until 13:00 or 14:00.

Much easier just to buy a FLO nasal douche bottle from dischem or clicks.... YouTube has instructions.

We have been adding some specific meds to these to treat some nasal conditions - works pretty well.

At R213 for 20 shots it's a fair bit more expensive than the home remedy though. But thanks.

You can make up the powder yourself - 50/50 bicarb and salt - cheap as chips.

It's the bottle that makes life easy.

As far as I can remember they only open the roads at 13:00. Pack a cooler box and swimming gear. Lekker kuier at the resort waiting for the runners to finish.

Motlokoa Nkhabutlane from lesotho came in 9th position in the Paris Marathon in a time of 2:09. Runs for local running club here - Save Orion

Thats awesome.

The husband/wife winning combo is pretty cool too

That is amazing! Those pro's make it look so easy.

Question, why don't we see more South African pro-athletes running the overseas marathons?

I am sure we have lots of talent, and it seems some of the overseas marathons are quite flat.Paris Marathon yesterday was 251m elevation.Prague Marathon last year was 184m. (Johnson Crane is 188m of elevation for comparison)

Is it a problem with sponsorship?

PS. Paris Marathon is on my bucket list!! Can you imagine starting a marathon in one of the most beautiful cities with 50 000 other runners?

getting them over there is the one factor - ASA are useless.

we do have competitors, but our guys are trying to earn a living of running - so they compete in lots of marathons. The top guys will focus on 1 or 2 marathons a year - thats it. our top guys will do 3 or 4, plus 2 oceans , plus comrades

Unfortunately not for me. My introvert personality and crowds don't mingle so lekker..

Did a trail run last year where there were only 58 entries. It was perfect!

How are we all doing in taper week to OMTOM?

I'm going to try to get more sleep this week! Yawning like a pro in the office today!

Feeling a bit nervous, felt a little niggle in my left calve yesterday while running.

I agree with the more sleep this week. I decided not to run at all this week and will be resting until Friday morning, when we go for a short jog in Blouberg, looking at the mountain.

I am not good at tapering... I am not a very friendly person to be around. My poor colleagues. :whistling:  I am looking forward to the trip down to Cape Town.... especially the traditional Tequila shot later Saturday evening ^_^

So, in writing, my OMTOM 2017 plan is a sub 6, taking it easy, enjoying the Cape Town vibe, try to run parts of Constantia Nek, oh and sprinting over the finish line.
