Feels like these last 3 weeks is taking forever to go by.

I am again taking a "runcation" this year. So me and the Family will be heading to Durban on the 3rd. Cant wait to just chill and don't worry about a long run on a weekend. :whistling:

Yus, you guys are giving me serious butterflys. With this being my first Comrades, I have such a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness. I just want the day to come now because so much work has been put into training. You almost want to wrap yourself in bubblewrap before to prevent any niggle....haha.

Running seems to be unrivaled in terms of tradition, passion, atmosphere. My aim is to take in everything on the day and ENJOY the day!

On the day you must remind yourself of this... it will motivate you to keep going.

And the biggest lesson I took from last year, watch out when running behind the older green number runners. Those guys have lost all inhibitions about farting loudly in a pack.

I thought all runners do this?

I told my running mates the other day that I always wait for a car... and sometimes the stupid car won't come... They couldn't stop laughing and said seriously if you have to fart, you fart... I guess I am still trying to be a lady on the road. I also look around before making snot rockets or spitting. Some random guy at Loskop once told me I have such good manners looking around before spitting  ^_^

Out of interest sake, how many Comrades medals do we have on this thread?

I have 4, going for number 5. 2 down and 2 up. My best run thus far was an up run.

being part of a bus

One of the most horrible invention ever.   I really hope the bus drivers get a good talk-to before this year's Comrades.

Nr 10 is so close.

I was thinking of resting for a year or 2 so that I do my 10th when it is the 100th Comrades. The older generation at my club almost got a heart attack with my statement and told me you never ever skip a year unless you are injured or sick...

I did a back to back in 2010/2011, at the 2011 Comrades with 15km to go I swore to never ever ever run again in my life.

I’m proud to say I kept that promise until now :-)

So #3 this year, although the wife did say there will be a divorce if I enter Comrades again next year.

I can’t remember being this nervous for the first two, first one went amazingly well second one was disastrous. All

All that I can remember from Comrades was the second one.

I went out to fast and paid dearly for it.

In pmb marathon last year I was going for b batch and couldn't stop to pee... It took me about ten Kms to get it right and find a spot where there were no runners or spectators near... But I managed to get it right.... And was quite pleased with myself too ????
