Jaws677 Posted October 17, 2018 Share Untitled.jpgDamn good luck if you qualify with anything less than a C or maybe D seeding This year we got stuck on the highway from Durban to PMB and I had to start right from the back. With 20 000 runners the road was packed from side to side for the first 25km as in there was no way to go past anyone. And even after that the entire way was really really busy with runners tripping over cateyes as you cannot see more than a meter Infront of you in the masses. At one point it felt like you could lift both my legs off the ground and I would havr still be moving forward Hacc and Barry Stuart
Hacc Posted October 17, 2018 Share I agree with Jaws, I started in F and it took me 10 to 12 minutes to "start". Well, then I jogged/walked for the first 15 to 20 km. it was really "bumper to bumper" traffic. With the up run it is easier to get going because of the highway and more space to run.I still think you need at least a D seeding to miss the masses. ScottCM Posted October 17, 2018 Share And we've apparently got two downs runs following in 2020 and 2021... Any indication as to why?

The fastest start was out of c on the down run. Even b on the up run was jammed
Chris_ Posted October 17, 2018 Share This is a really big increase isn't it?! 20k to 25k. I wonder why they feel the need to do this.

Stretch Posted October 17, 2018 Share Getting serious Big FOMO right now... Hate missing ComradesMaybe it's my distance away... Or the fact that deep down I know a silver is off the cards...But Ive had my time with comrades. I'm happy with my 3... Now I'm focusing on city marathons. I think it's harder for you because.... You are near to it... And a silver is still on the cards. The mind is an incredible thing... You are well capable of doing it and I think you have out psyched yourself temporarily. Take a year off and come back in 2019 and smack that silver Lexx
