Overheated my treadmill last night and it turned itself off. Thankfully after 5 mins cooling down it switched back on and is working.

Need to look at cooling options for it today...

The belt probably needs lube. Spray some silicone lube under the belt and let it run with no weight for a minute.

Treadmill came out of the storeroom on the farm. Took it apart and cleaned about 7 years worth of dust and bugs  out of it. Now to find an alternative to silicon spray during lockdown. . . . . .

I have got so many different oils and fluids and sprays but nothing silicon based.

Any Ideas?

Apparently sex lubes will do the trick...

Don't spray the top of the belt with silicone spray. It might look very nice but its a really shït idea...

Some furniture polishes contain silicon oil, maybe check it out if you have any in the house. Or those car interior spray on polishes....

Edit: Don’t go overboard with the application, rather spray to little than to much.

Loosen the belt tensioner, put something under the belt like a thick book to create a small gap and spray a little, move the belt about 30 cm and repeat 3 or 4 times. Tension the belt and let it run at 10 kmh for ten minutes with no weight.

I did my 10k on the estate this morning. Even with a calf strain from Thursday's "last" run it felt good and I feel very fortunate.

I hope all runners get through this okay. We complain about the uncertainty and confusion around our favourite events, but in the end all we really want is to be running.

Surely that’s contravening the lock down?

I wouldn’t post that on strava or social media

um... healthy? not die? one day soon be able to find another job in this country? and not have it completely ruined?

I don't want to sound dumb but running for me at least is pretty low.
