Jackes Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 I buy true to size and since switching to Injinji socks I have not had a single blister, including wet socks for most of Otter Will give this a try as well thanks.
SeaBee Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Loved those Injini socks, but they lasted only 3 runs before big toe had a hole in it. Do suspect that the mud on Bastille Run played a significant role, so may try them again.
Jurgens Smit Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 How do you guys handle tight calves while running? Afterwards is no issue, I've just noticed that especially early into my run my calves are super tight. So not sure if this is normal or not?

So not sure if this is normal or not?Decent stretching before the workout is, in my case, as important as a proper stretch afterwards. Are you doing proper stretching before you head out for a run? On the blister issues: I've just suffered some crazy blisters after Soweto 21km. My shoes were pretty wet and I've got the orthotics in, perhaps the shoes size issue may be a thing, but I'm not in a position to buy new shoes, I've still got 250km to go on the current ones. Also, not sure of altering size when it is time, suppose a visit to the doc is in order again. I use a thick Falke that has worked for years, not crazy about the thin ones, perhaps a double set of thin ones? Edited November 15, 2016 by Jigghead

Are you doing proper stretching before you head out for a run?.... I've always done a dynamic warm up instead of static stretches (leg swings, squat jumps etc.) Read an interesting article re static stretching the other day that reckons its not so good for you pre run. http://www.runnersworld.com/sweat-science/should-you-stretch-before-running KiddiMat and Andrew Steer 2

I'm gonna see if it makes such difference for me.

Jackes Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I had to treadmill this morning due to circumstances, which was the first treadmill since the winter. I almost DIED. I doubt even this thing will make it better. I have no idea how I'm going to survive on that treadmill come winter time...
Hacc Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I hate a treadmill. I will only get onto a treadmill if I am in desperate need to go running, and it is raining or very cold. Lexx 1
Jigghead Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) I' rather skip a day or go and do a swim/Wattbike in the gym than run on a treadmill. I hate them. Edited November 17, 2016 by Jigghead

SeaBee Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Jackes, why do you even worry about a dreadmill in winter...? Don't you Bloem peeps just put on two pairs of shorts for the cold?! Ramrod and ScottCM 2
