Nico no one is forcing you to buy a Niner, maybe stop trolling... the rest of us want to perv in peace.

If asking a wholesaler about their model where the model is portrayed as being more consumer friendly compared to other options, but doesn't appear to actually be is trolling, then cool, I'll be that guy.

I'm not oblivious to the realities that the ZAR is poked, NINER is a more niche brand and just plain more expensive.

What I don't understand is how going direct to Niner makes more (monetary) sense than going to a LBS and buying a different brand for a similar price with better / similar specs.  The whole point of going direct is to cut out the costs added by retailers.

So comparing the Niners to Spez bikes actually only proves that Spez is more economic, since their advertised prices are what you pay in a shop.

Wouldn't your argument be the same as why go to Lamborghini and get a niche car vs going to BMW and buying a vehicle off their floor?

I can't afford either, but it doesn't stop me from drooling over them.

Well, it's settled then, you compare a Spez to a Niner, something a true Ninerd would never do.

And let's not kid ourselves, we love the fact that not every Tom, Nico and Harry has a Niner, it just adds to the cool-factor of the brand...

Just to put it in perspective, an Air 9 Carbon 1 star deore is $2500 at the current exchange rate of R13.76/$ that equates to R34400 on the SA site it's R34399.  So in that regard quite similar.  And that doesn't take it in to account that if you did a normal exchange rate, it would be an additional 2% if you use a credit card plus shipping then VAT once landed here.

Plus 15% if it is a full build you're bringing in...

If you buy a bike for the groupset it comes with then you may be missing the point of cycling completely. I am not going to buy a Titan for example because it comes with XTR instead of a Niner with SLX at the same price - They cannot be compared. If you simply walk in and choose a bike form Game or Hyperama based on those credentials you will never descern the nuances to be had buying different/high end/niche/well developed bike brands and paying the extra money for the ride quality and geometry and suspension design or whatever that brand does best.

You're investing in a frame and the price point will be met by brands by fitting the groupset afterwards, not the other way around.

Sent an inquiry on your website, but I guess you've been inundated with requests.  Looking for a Large WFO9 (frame only).  Considering an upgrade from my current 2011/12 WFO.  What would the price on that be?

Give it time #pygaspygaseverywhere

There you go again, comparing Niner to a Pyga.

Both brands have their hippy followers, don't start a war, please, we ride in peace.

Also if people want to have a go at brands for pricing look no further than Pyga, #proudlysouthafrican at American market prices... I am sure there was a thread about it somewhere...

Anyway...
