the use of mp3 players on your bike is very easily understandable

if you can’t hear someone warning you, someone could get injured, the shirt on the other hand can’t hurt anyone...

People who wear vests tend to think they can

I remember a commissaire at one of the races saying that the sleeves offer additional protection for your clavicle when you go down in a crash. I've never worn them but I distinctly remember it because it makes absolutely no sense.

It's a rule that's been around for ages, not consistently applied. The reasoning of added protection only really makes sense for abrasions and sun protection really.

Not sure what's more silly sometimes, the rule or some of the reactions to it.

  1. Rule #7 //

Tan lines should be cultivated and kept razor sharp.

Under no circumstances should one be rolling up their sleeves or shorts in an effort to somehow diminish one’s tan lines. Sleeveless jerseys are under no circumstances to be employed.

When you at a race and gets told that if you race with that shirt you will get a DQ then you can expect a reaction or two ? Happened to me three years ago at the 94.7 (should be on here somewhere) when I got stopped before entering the gates .

Yes the rule is stupid. But is getting upset about it on thebikehub is not going to change it. Try sending a letter to CSA or UCI

Did not mention it in my earlier post but I did send a letter to CSA ! The secretary at that stage promised me that they would come back to me . Guess what ??

Them are the rules as they say.

CSA wanted to fine me CHF100 back 15 years ago for pitching up with a sleeveless.  From then I knew the rules.

Back then they also said for safety reasons.
