NotSoBigBen Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 who these new guys? Haas and Fraile? Some unknown' Africans' perhaps?
Nibali Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Nathan Haas rode for Cannondale, he will be a supporting rider and Omar Fraile won the King of the Mountains jersey at the Vuelta, so a excellent signing there! Gen and T-Bob 2
FootballingCyclist Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) I wonder if he will be getting paid in Rands or Pounds, seeing as though a free MTN contract is now out the window with the sponsor coming to an end, so that obviosuly wasn't the swing vote... With the Rand over 20 to the Pound, his salary must be quite a nice looking 1.... BTW, Anyone know what the new team colours will be?? I kinda liked the Qhubeka logo, Hope they manage to keep it somehow... Edited September 30, 2015 by FootballingCyclist
Baracuda Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 But will he win again without his fancy Specialized handlebars, socks and shoes? I thought they were crucial to winning and having the ultimate edge?

Gen Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 This day is just getting stranger.. there is no thread for this.. and I don't even want to give him the satisfaction of a dedicated thread.. so admin can delete this as it's a hijack.. but Belgian prosecutor investigating Alexander Vinokourov and Alexandr Kolobnev has decided should stand trial on 'private corruption' charges. Spesh claim their integrated uberaeromegasuperultra design of bike, helmet, clothing, gloves, nose ring, beard and tonsils save 57 seconds/40km. That means the Cav will be 4:45 behind the peleton on your average 200km race. It's a shame really. Patchelicious 1

Personal feelings aside I hope he evolves from a decent into a good/great classics rider. Once the fast twitch fibre starts going you need to harness the diesel He has the right body (stocky) and the right background (track) to ride the classics - not sure he has the right mental fortitude. He has won a fair amount of classics but they're mostly the pan flat team chase down into lead out sprint type stuff. I'm hoping he steps up and gets stuck into the "attrition" classics! Go Mark (did I just say that?) CleatsnCleavage 1

The thing about Cav that people get wrong is to think he is past he's best and that is not the case at all.According to him he is generating as much power now as he has ever done. The only big difference is he is up against some very good competition at the moment with teams way more dedicated to the sprint train than what he has had.Plus other teams has put a lot of work into how to beat him and he's Aero way of sprinting is also copied these days by many. He is not getting slower the other teams are getting faster! He is far from done...and 13 wins in a season any team in the world will take. Team DD is going to be spending loads more time on the podium next year. Can't wait to see him win for our team!!Good Job Dougie!!!!! Gen, T-Bob, xcd and 2 others 5
T-Bob Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Belgian prosecutor investigating Alexander Vinokourov and Alexandr Kolobnev has decided should stand trial on 'private corruption' charges. That does deserve to have it's own thread and a little happy dance. Vino shouldn't be anywhere near cycling. Gen 1
