1 - if your front skewer comes loose on a bike with discs, you're in *** anyway.

 

2 - by show of hands, how many hubbers have had a skewer come loose while riding?

That is actually my point, Droo. I can't remember it happening once.

 

America is generally rather quick to jump onto these safety issues. Maybe because they don't know how to ride/maintain their bikes?

Mainly because you can sue the pants off anyone who doesn't make a product that's completely idiot proof. And considering the quality of the modern idiot that's quite a challenge.

 

Darwinism is being legislated out of existence. If I were supreme ruler of the world I'd make warning labels illegal and let the problem sort itself out.
