I focussed on nutrition and recovery during this period....... And you are expected to be on you bike in the morning? Better prep your SS for Friday too... nothing like a friday morning race instead of training...

I ran Conti Race king protection rear and X king protection front, not even one flat the whole race, still have the same set on the bike actually, they do look like they have been through Vietnam and back though

mornevg Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Rode the Epic this year on Conti Protections, NO ISSUES. Saw plenty guys with Racing Ralphs and Nobby Nics with sidewall cuts. You need a tyre with thick sidewalls. Schwalbe's seem to not make it when the terrain got really rough.

The snakeskin version is what you want. The evo is a lightweight short course xc race tyre. Not suitable for weekendwarriors who bludgeon their way across trails
