Would be interesting to seeHe would kick serious ass. He has both endurance and some of the best skill in the world. Comes from a very high end mtb background. Don't think any of his sponsors would allow him close to epic. If something went wrong it would be a VERY expensive oops

NelAndre Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Now you're making me sound like a d!ck. I've done the 20 hour a week plus training thing, and by the time you get to Epic you hate everything. You hate your bike. You hate your coach. You hate the event. You hate cycling! And your wife hates you. (At least I've always left each Epic still being friends with my partner). Yes, the entry costs a lot, and it is worth every cent, but you don't have to go crazy on all the extras. Everybody will try to convince you that you have to open your wallet for the latest and greatest thingymagig which will ensure an amazing Epic, but the truth is there are three things that ensure a great Epic. An awesome partner, realistic expectations, and a positive attitude.Velouria: Thanks for that perspective. I for one was caught up in this hype and ruled myself out of ever doing the epic seeing that I believed I will have to spend all the extra rondts on equipment and and and....... Seems like I was misled......being smart about it might just make this possible for me.

I've seen plenty poor souls bar-ends hook a branch or stump or something at speed, looked like a Tasmanian devil stunt gone wrong spinning so fast they didn't know what hit them Leave the bar-ends for the pro's....
