That sounds good!

Feels like my Visa is taking for ages...and it has only been 3 working days

Don't know how the rest of you dealt so well with this waiting game

So last night I went to a BIM (Building Information Modelling) committee meeting, here in Christchurch. There were some interesting presentations by those in the built environment and design industry.

The last presentation was by 2 of the firms involved with the Christchurch Adventure Park.

They had their LiDAR scans, Revit models, and some cool pics of what's going on. Some VERY cool stuff coming... and opening is scheduled for 16th December this year!

Oh, and apparently season tickets can be bought (season being year round because there's not enough snow to warrant closing trails). So I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas.

They also mentioned that they aim to host a DH WC in the future, because the facility will be top notch.

So yeah... South Island is where it's at yo! hahaha!

Lucky Bugger.  I am still waiting for my bikes to arrive on a ship(don't ask how it happened, still a sore point) and then I get to have a crack at the local trails as well as Rotorua!

I have just put my bikes on a ship...had to choose between them and my snowboard.

But there isn't snow in the north island yet .... and maybe only one/two place(s) running now in the south (made snow)... Assume you planning a holiday down south when you get there, otherwise how did you get to making that choice?

TIP: if show boarding and learning out buy an ice hockey padded pants......I could barely walk after 2 days out on the slopes because of damage to my tailbone

Go to Arrowtown rather; 30 minutes up the road and half the price...

Mt Hutt is pretty good for newbies and the last time I went the facilities were great. One tip, make sure you have snow chains on your wheels. You can normally hire them in town from one of the ski shops. I went up there once without and ended up sliding my car into a snow bank. When I eventually got up the mountain a Kea decided to eat all my wipers. Crap day driving but an amazing day snowboarding.

This thread really makes me miss NZ.
