Lets take nominations for a poll "Nicest cyclist of the year - 2015" on the world stage.

Not only performance wise, but the person who always smiles, exudes positiveness, excels in sportsmanship, and makes you proud to love the sport the way you do. Please substantiate your nomination................

Easy, one of our own, Tombeej.........post-77414-0-67066200-1447918261_thumb.jpg

Motivation: for his selfless role in mentoring the I-Team at the 947 and encouraging it to continue beyond..... He herded the panic-merchants and detail-devils towards a common goal and dispensed educational advice by the bucket load. Seems like a great ambassador for the sport to me.....

where to start ..

Great season, even when he got so close so many times.. he always showed great sportsmanship and then it all worked just right for him to win worlds .. Always smiling always congratulated anyone who beat him.

And to see they guys genuinely happy for him when he won worlds goes to show he is a all round good guy respected by his peers.

I read the criteria posted for the Nice Guy award.. and to me he met it all. First name that came to mind.

agree 100%

humility, passion, skill and respect all rolled into one

I have to agree...

one example: meeting other 2 riders he didn't even know to go show a critical piece of a race route to the day before a race because they have never seen it just so they know what to expect and endless amount of great tips to the 'noobies' even though riding heels isn't something he will do usually before a race...

He is all about building people up for sure!

Female PRO

Definitely Lizzie Armistead

She's reflected real grace and power through hardships (that finish line crash, for example) and the glory of Road World Champion status

Sagaaan

The high 5s at the finish line with other contenders for the Rainbow reflects his awesomeness in the eyes of the PROs (not just his zillions of fans).

And his interview afterwards asking the world to get on with each other and stop fighting was a nice touch. Also the fact that everyone now expects him to do a wheelie either during or after a stage shows how he isn't just a serious stuck up pro, He actually just loves his job and has fun.
