Terrible service from Linden Cycles

3 Years ago, Linden Cycles promised to keep me a 2nd hand bicycle for 1 day. The next afternoon when I went to purchase it, they were busy loading it in someone else's car.

 
I Boikotted them for 3 years. I was recently convinced to try them again, as it has been 3 years & they are the closest to my house.
 
I dropped my bicycle to be repaired Wednesday morning 8am. They told me they will have it ready within 2 days. That was last night. After not hearing anything I went this afternoon (Friday) and they have not even glanced at it. They took forever to find it, because it wasn't even processed! I have a receipt stating I handed it in, so there must be record of it on their side, but nothing. They have done NOTHING in more than 48 hours.
 
Be warned. They have appauling customer service.

Sh!t I have two bikes in with them due for today, does this mean they won't be ready?? :whistling:  :whistling:

 

I dropped my bikes off on Tuesday and the workshop only had space for a today(Friday) otherwise their schedule was full, dropping your bike off on Wednesday and expecting a 2 day turnaround when they are full up is a bit unrealistic, unless they promised you something to the contrary? (which I doubt)

If they told him it will be ready in two days then they must have it ready in two days, or call him saying that there will be a delay.

 

It grinds my tits when I go to collect my bike at an agreed time and date and its not ready, just call me and I wont waste my time driving all the way there.

With so many great bikeshops in the area you chose to go to the one place that gave you crap service in the past....obviously you like to punish yourself.

 

Here's a list of alternatives: ( in no particular order )

 

Mikes Bikes

Northcliff cycles

Dirt Merchant

Trailhead

Sprocket and Jack

 

Avoid the ones not listed...

I agree with this and OP, if the shop is too useless to get the bike ready when they said they would then it would be better to take it to someone else. Unfortunately that doesnt help when you go to collect it on the day it was supposed to be ready.

OP isn't being unreasonable. Based on his version, they made  commitment, which they seemingly took a giant, steaming dump on.

 

Obviously, we need Linden Cycle's version of events.

 

Mr Joubert, please post a photo of the receipt you received - especially if it contains a date stamp.
