Eddy I agree with your proposal with a few amendmends:

1. Entries to the competition will close 15 December 2015

2. All entrants to post there weight and maybe a photo  before 15 Dec

Agreed, but start must be 7 December. I have a wedding on the 12th and will have an unfair advantage if I only get weighed thereafter :whistling: .

Actually, I need the motivation to keep me on the straight and narrow at the wedding

I'll start a new thread for the competition.

which means no Christmas lunch for you then. Can i have your gammon?

thinking maybe the banting route would be a good eating plan for the christmas period...then i get to eat everything and have beacon and eggs for breakfast :)

the competition was my suggestion and it was 1 December. Next Monday is the 7th and may be better for more people.

Count me in please

191cm and always struggled to get to 100Kg

But Berg and Bush descent  got me to 93Kg ( even than 25 bmi )

But have steadily ate my way to 98.7 this morning and need to stem the tide before I raise my bat again !!!

7th works for me. Better, in fact than the 15th.

Me too.

So we post our weight (and height?) on Monday 7th December. Comp runs through to 31st January and the winner is the person who's lost the greatest percentage of his starting weight.

That about it?

I'm in.

Haha I'm amazed at all the responses on this thread.

Firstly, I'm stunned at how many of us are in the same boat. For a long time, I have felt quite alone in this struggle of being a heavy cyclist. It's nice to know I'm not the only one cursing the hills!

Secondly, I'm amazed with the competition!! If this is a way for a lot of us to lose some of our heavy, it can only be good! Good luck to the participants! I have just got a promotion at work and will be travelling a lot this month, so count me out! Will watch with close interest!

Lastly, for those trying to say: get up and ride smarter and harder - piss up a rope. This was a thread about being able to accept our fates after trying to join the ranks of the small and fast. Well done for being such a Boykie, but the rest of us will simply do what we do - love our bikes and love our sport - even when we are hating the climbs!!

Keep it up you Gorillas!!! See you out on the road - no MTB for me:)

1,79m and weighed in this morning at 91,2kgs.

I know I am capable of getting to 80 with some dedication and a lot more riding. Crazy thing is I spent my 20s doing all I could to get huge, now I would give my left ball to look like Nibali
