"One thing we got out of [the testing] is that it does show the performances in the Tour de France at the moment are in the realm of what we'd expect a normal human to be capable of,"

"We have to be realistic. There are athletes who use shortcuts to try and reach that same level. Cycling has had its share of doping scandals. We always have to have some degree of skepticism, but at the same time the process is going to select for the best human specimens. There can only be one winner, and that winner will be the extreme right-hand side of the curve. We'd expect that physiology to be exceptional, and not many would have that physiology."

They were releasing Dumoulin's numbers almost after every stage during the Vuelta. . No delay no fan fare no build up to the big release. .just released them..

While this is true, lets be honest, Tommy D isn't under the immense scrutiny that Froomie is. As in the above article, Dr Swart states they are realising a "Peer Reviewed" version soon. Now as a doctor on this subject, you are 100% guaranteed that every doubter and hater (In your field of expertise and media and social media and granny of next door neighbours, etc, etc) is going to try and dissect your work to try and prove Froome is another Lance.

So what does that mean? You are going to go over your own work a million times to make sure there isn't something you missed and your own reputation is thrown into question, which takes time.

My question is, if I am a top athlete and I am convinced the guy who keeps beating me is cheating, surely I would do the test and show that me as a CLEAN athlete can only do this, therefore his numbers must show he is cheating. Why aren't the rest overeager to produce their numbers?

I was never a Froome fan , mostly because he rode in support of Wig on Skyborg and he didn't want anything to do with a RSA lineage. Then after he withdraw from the TDF last year before the cobbles I gave him flak for being a whimp. He made me eat humble pie however in last years Vuelta when Alberto was clearly the stronger rider in the mountains but Froome wouldn't give up and he just gave it his all day after day even though he knew he wasn't going to get anything from it. This years Vuelta cemented my admiration for his heart when he rode with a broken foot in the most difficult stage ever designed. As for him finally "moaning" I can understand why, one can only be pushed, accused, thrown, punched, pissed upon so much before you say enough is enough and be a man that stands up for himself. I sure as hell won't keep taking the abuse and I won't expect my children to do that either. So why should he? Yes he chose this role but there has to be a line drawn somewhere?

Read the book, might help understand his dedication and also the reasons behind his struggles initially when arriving on the Europeans scene.

I believe he is clean, his performances reflect his approach to training.

Anyway, he is innocent till proven guilty.

They say the tallest tree bears the most wind. He is at the top and so the suspicion will always be there based on other top riders transgressions.

There are many questions which a lab test can't answer. Like how do you maintain power whilst being so thin, how do you stop yourself from having a bad day (think Richie Porte), how do you stop those red blood cells from dropping in a three week race.

This being said, I am a Froome supporter.

Are you fat ?  :w00t:
