Will get the callipers on it to check this evening, doesnt seem like a visible gap but Im guessing 1mm at most.

Best and easiest solution is to buy a set of seat post bottle mount clamps.

Set the seatpost at the right height, tighten the seatpost clamp and then tighten one of the bottle clamps flush with the top of the seatpost clamp.

My NINER sir 9 had the slipping issue and I have used this method without fail for a few years now.

Use some insulation tape around the seat post

dont even bother - this is a recipe for a sticky slipping seatpost.

My alu seatpost was slipping in my carbon frame. After trying a boatload of different ideas to keep it in place, the only one that is working so far (for the past year) is cleaning and tightening the seatpost to the point that it feels like it might snap and rip your hand off, but wont.

you can also join the hub's biggest loser comp over the next few weeks

alternatively this might work (its worked well for me on my old frame)

weighing a few kg's less doesn't remove the slipping seatpost variable, it just lessens the weight applied to the slipping seatpost <_<

My Anthem's post (Giant Contact or whatever) used to slip as well, until I bought a Torque Wrench and was confident in tightening it to the spec max (8nm?). Now all is well and it does not move at all anymore, even when I apply a light coating of grease to the post before inserting again. The max is more than I was willing to do by hand. btw the Anthem ships with an allen key type collar

Flippen heck, its like Captain Myles suggested a few posts back.

Got the callipers on it and its a 30.4 seatpost where it should be 30.9 so either titans QC is shocking of they use very weird non-standard sizing.

So the clamp area is flexing inwards and making contact with a very small area of the post.

Now do I shim it with a coke can or just get over myself and buy a new post...

Get a Ryder seatpost. Cheap cheap and good quality.

And no, there is a standard of 30.4. It's relatively unknown, but used in some budget bikes, for some reason.

I found that out the hard way, having to saw a post out of a frame when I inserted a 30.9 into a 30.4 hole and it stuck fast.

Don't shim. Buy new post and put it behind you. And yes, it is human to try and overcomplicate a problem when the solution is right in front of you. I do it all the time

You are right, Im a fan of shiny things, I just dont normally classify seatposts shiny :D

Will find something decent, Im not a fan of buying too cheap.

Cheap DNE nasty, in the case of Ryder & Rapide...

Captain Myles you are a champ, I had completely forgotten about Rapide, wider bar and new seatpost will be ordered before the night is up.

I struggled with my first trance with my seat post dropping until I broke the quick release as I tightened it too much. Replaced that with a *** kcnc quick release which at least kept the seat post up.

On my new trance I wised up and lubed the quick release, life changing! Not much help in your case though...

Reminds me of when I was a lightie. Man I had a lot of parts stuck together and bugger all proper tools to separate them. Many a frustrating day, I tell you.
