jimmycool Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Is it possible for the spreadsheet to be updated to include the next few weeks? The current one only has 6 weeks on it.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Up 1 or so for me since last I weighed in. 108 kg. Stress for the past 2 weeks has been super high. Only exercise I managed was an hour long walk run shuffle along the Durban beachfront last Friday. I'm feeling okay about that. Can get back into the exercise now.
splat Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I seem to be 1.5 to 2kg heavier on Mondays than I am on WednesdaysHit my target weight of 95kg today (instead of Wednesday)

I know this is a 'contentious' issue but should it not be possible to lose weight even without exercise?

Sitting@89 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Is it possible for the spreadsheet to be updated to include the next few weeks? The current one only has 6 weeks on it.Ditto only found this thread today but would like to join the challenge. I started my weight loss journey last year September on 154kg (I am 2.08m tall so it looked bad, but not as bad as it would have looked on most people) weighing around 127.5 (so current loss is sitting at about 26.5kg) at the moment, want to get that to about 110, then I will be in lean fit roadie type shape. This challenge looks like a great way to keep me motivated (and not have weeks like last week)
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I know this is a 'contentious' issue but should it not be possible to lose weight even without exercise?Yes, but stress... Was in Durbs for 11 days. My dad was (and still is) in ICU following a bout of extreme diverticulitis of the small bowel, a MASSIVE blood transfusion and almost complete organ failure...
HBO Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Hi Myles. I hope your dad heals up quite soon. All of the best to you and the family.

Hi Myles sorry to hear about your issues mate and hope your dad gets better soon. You are right stress plays a bigger role than we think on not only diet but also general health. Take it easy mate!

Should have good gains (losses) to show for it pretty soon.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 On the subject of bread though... Started watching Michael Pollan's "Cooked" series, and he highlighted something that may help us retain our most favourite food-source - bread. Essentially, he highlighted the fact that bread (in terms of the store-bought loaves and such) is no longer just flour and water. It's flour, water and 30 other ingredients - stabilizers, fortifiers, preservatives and so on. It may be THIS, and not the gluten itself, that is causing all the "gluten sensitivity" in modern society. To this end, I've started my own sourdough starter. Sourdough is THE bread of choice, primarily due to the fermentation process that it undergoes, and the way that that breaks down the barriers to the proteins and nutrients being absorbed by our bodies... Here's a few sources to look at. I'm looking forward to this experiment, and may end up making all my own bread. Even though it may take 3 days for the dough to prove before I can bake it...
