Anyone running version 17 (Krypton) yet?

I inadvertently updated the software, only to find that I lost some of the add-ons. With the new (read: better) layout, I had to search YouTube for some answers. Decided to format the SD card on my Pi, and start from scratch.

The new layout is eleventy times better than before, and adding the various add-ons is so much easier.

Am running Krypton, have been for a month or so... I actually changed the skin back to confluence as did not like the new format for the way I operate kodi.

Edit: And was taking time to find out how do do things as they were not in their usual place.

Picked up my latest box today; has Krypton loaded. Works well and I quite like the slick new interface.

Very pleasing.

KM8 Pro Octa Core 2+16. Gigabit Ethernet and dual band WiFi.

The 8GB version is less than R590 at the moment on Fleabay, with free shipping (tracked). A bargain if you're not in a hurry.

So been running Kodi (17) from my macbook pro for the last 2 weeks, using up our last data on our Telkom LTE contract that came to and end yesterday, but data still available until it runs out.

Fibre is being hooked up on Thursday and wireless access point installed on Friday. Uncapped 50Mbps (up/down) line.

I want my laptop back so looking to get a media player / tv box, but really somewhat bamboozled by the array of options available.

I am told the Mxq Pro 4k box is really good value for money. Looking to spend 1-1.5k

Any suggestions based on experience?

I bought one off Amazon. Couple that with a Rii i8+ wireless keyboard and you are golden. Been using ours for a while now and it is one of those purchases that you just never regret.

Running the TVAddons version of Kodi along with UKTVNow and RedBullTV Apps.

Haven't watched any SABC/DSTV for a few years and haven't missed it at all. Mostly UK TV (More4, Channell 4, ITV, Reality TV, Dave etc) and series/movies using Exodus, Phoenix, Good Fellas and SALTS (In order of preference)

Have a look at Amazon, Ebay, Banggood, DX etc. if you don't mind waiting a few weeks for delivery. You could save a few hundred randellas

Are you running Kodi 17 on 1GB RAM?

I've seen a few reports that you need 2GM RAM to have 17 run smoothly.

I just got an Mxq Pro and the device has only 1GB RAM. Before this we were running 17 from my macbook so already used to the interface and quite like it.

The Mxq Pro came with 16.1 and I honestly prefer the look of 17 so want to update but now worried it won't work well with 1GB RAM...

How is yours going?

(had a issue when adding streams from Spekto to library)

i briefly tried the default theme, but i prefer Confluence..

Can't say I notice any performance issues - one week of almost daily usage (4-5 hours per day) and it's perfect.
