You would need to ask him if that's the real reason but I heard that that is why he raced without the TUE.

I'm merely placing other views on the table

To continue with your scenario, is it ok to cheat & dope if you are riding for appearance and not trying to win?

Only after the money then?

Aren't we all ......

So surely you distance yourself from it all??

He's fighting the wrong corner...

But what would most people have done....it's easy for us to sit on a forum and give opinions but we are not emotionally involved...emotions can change the entire perspective.....

It's Kevin that has dropped the ball, Kevin that is cheapening his whole career, all his results, all his sponsors by walking away and not contesting any of this.

I think Kevin needs to put together a calm and reasoned statement on why he has not contested the finding - an HONEST one, and if things have not been above board anywhere, then appropriate reparations made, apologies issued etc

All this yelling and name calling on public media does not do the sport any good (Jules - are you listening? :) ) and the long term prospects for sponsorship get worse every day for athletes (especially for younger guys) the longer this carries on - no corporate wants to be associated with, or take the risk of being duped by a doper, and then have their name dragged through the mud publically.

Someone needs to hold free PR classes for pro athletes...

I thought the alternative path ended when KE accepted the charge and subsequent ban?

Why would the alternative path end? Must BE obey to Bikehub blogger pressure and condemn a rider that has delivered results?

Hence questioning the vitriol being leveled at him. He's accepted the ban. Explained his situation and moved on. BE is on the alternative path. He's defending someone who he is obviously close too.

every other scenario being portrayed is just speculation and the baying for blood on twatbook and bikehub is akin to a tar an feather mob.

Now there's a non factual history being written which seems to want to be accepted as truth without further input? Is this behaviour any better?

Path ends for KE as he is guilty as charged and banned. The End.

BE has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

True, but also with Twitter things can all to often be pulled out of context and topic. He was baited a few times and not being one to back down reacted to that accordingly as he felt, and people continued. There's a complete irony to the accusation of being a bully.

He should have just left it yes, the benefit of hindsight, outside observers and all that. None of us are perfect.

Twitter is for ragers, rational discussion is maybe 10% of the time. Nothing to do with being against or defending doping, it's about how people feel about THEIR opinion and the ensuing drama attraction. Nothing more, nothing less.

Personally, I find it pathetic and the resulting back biting, sniping and antics as a result are as bad as the doping itself, on all sides.

Is it cheating if you trying to win....?

so try not to look at that as a justification for doping but as a justification that even ill people should be given the opportunity to participate.

what is the difference between competing and participating?
