Iwan Kemp Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Tell us what speed(s) your current drivetrain is and what you will be buying next.
funrider Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 1x11 for me, no other choice imho. If/when 1x12 gets launched, that would be the weapon of choice
NotSoBigBen Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I have the following:- 1* SS2* 1*101* 1*11 No idea what my 'next' drivetrain may be .....
Frosty Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 2* 3x9 Next plan is SS - a complete bike and not only drive train, then my "speed" is 1x "as fast as I can pedal"
nickc Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Running Sram 1 x 11, will either stick with Sram 1 x 11 or maybe go Sram 1 x 12.
jcza Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 1 x 12? Tempting but I'm going with wider range and closer ratios. My dream build will be Di2 (2 x 11) but with single shifter.

Seems to me there are some limitations that apply to shimano 2 x 11 - 11/40 cassette and max 10 tooth diference on the front - pretty much means the same range as 10/50 12 speed - guess we will have to wait for 1x12 to be certain.

Interesting times, I won't lie...... I like new technology and advancement.
SwissVan Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Running 1 x 11Next bike will be 2 x 11 How did the 1 x 11 feel on the epic this year?
jcza Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 How did the 1 x 11 feel on the epic this year? It was ok but I still think the smart guys were riding 2 x 10/11. Spent plenty time on that 42.
wisecrack Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 That makes up my mind then I'm new to MTB coming from road bike I bought a Merida with XT 2x11. I was considering going 1x11 ,but think I will keep the extra chain ring and shifter until I ride plenty of climbs and make up my mind.
