Can't comment on the Rapides, but I enjoy the Arch EX's. Been bulletproof so far. And ja, same would go for the Hope hubs. Can't really fault a build like that.

Arch on hopes as said above bulletproof, plus hopes have  adapters for all flavors. Also hope parts are available and they are well sealed units. Use them for my AM, Jump and singlespeed bikes.

Difficult choice.

The Hope/Stans combination are being sold at the local hub + rim price.  Basically the build and spokes are for nothing.  Question is what spokes and how well are they built?

On the other side the Rapide are built and backed up by Wayne and come with the axle caps, skewers and valves.

Not an easy decision

I need 29er.

The archs seems to be the best value.

Is it worth the R1600 over the rapides

I've been riding Arch EX's on Hope Evo2's, built by Booth, for the past 3 years. They have been faultless despite some heavy usage by me.

Had the Rapide R21's laced to Superstar hubs. Not a days problem, and I'm not the most efficient rider through the rough stuff. Tend to bash from rock to rock????.

Rode them for over a year and not a single problem with the rims.

Plus, at R2350 a rim Da Bomb isn't exactly a cheap rim. Nearly double the price of Stan's and even more with Rapide.

But full builds at R5999 seem reasonable, assuming hubs are decent.

Thats the price for TWO rims... ;) R2350 for the pair

I am running Rapidé TR29 TrailRacer wheels (Rapidé R25 rims - 25mm internal / 30mm external) on Rapidé Ultralight PRO hubs.

I've done approximately 1700 kilometers so far, and all I can say is that I am extremely pleased. I'm a heavy chap (107 odd kg before breakfast), and so far these wheels have been rock solid. Great value for money, and Wayne at Rapidé is great to deal with.
