Yussis, the comments by so-called "animal lovers" on the VG Cheese Farm facebook page are simply unbelievable.

Not even trolling - just ranting, abuse, swearing and threats of physical harm.

We live in a truly ####ed up society.

Well they're not really animal lovers because the bunch of goats, ducks and chickens that got killed by said dog aren't mentioned once.

Dog lovers is more accurate...

Check the comments of a certain Di Lemmar, who lives in Cape Town. Here is one of her pearls of wisdom:

She's just a troll begging for attention. I doubt very much that it's a real profile.

Bastard guy. Just when I thought I'd get through a Friday morning without snorkoughing coffee on my screen.

Damnit man.

Think about laptop safety before you post crap like that.

You sound like Dr Leonard McCoy in that statement...straight out of the new Star Trek Movies  :w00t:

But how can he do that on purpose without taking in consideration the poor keyboards and laptops safety, surely there mus be another way,has somebody phoned the EPA to get them involved, using somebody's coffee to burn and mutilate is extremely unPC like.. :whistling:

Just to add some more detail to my original post, I have taken a screenshot off Google and drawn where everything happened. Those who know Van Gaalens will have a good idea of the distances etc.

I also think this is an old google maps pic as the dam is bigger, seems like they have extended it with a new dam wall.

So In summary

Blue circle is where i was sitting with my family, on the patio reserved for smoking.

Red indicates the path of the dog, it was hunting on the dam wall and then moved down through the fence and stood under a tree. After being chased it moved down towards the river on the red dashed line.

The black is the path of the farm worker who moved towards the dog to chase it away

The yellow is the path of the farmer, at the first circle he stopped and spoke to a visitor who asked what was happening and why the shotgun, this is where i heard him explain the feral dog problem.

Following the yellow line he then moved down to the family who were picnicking by the river indicated by the green circle. I don't know what he said as it was too far away, but they packed up and moved up towards the parking area by way of the green dashed line.

The farmer and by now the dog following the yellow and red dashed lines had now moved into the red star area and out of sight of everyone at the restaurant as this is behind thick bushes near the river. This is when the shot went off and i must assume is where the dog was killed.

Please excuse the drawing - anyone ever tried to draw with a mouse !!!!

I would have phoned the SPCA, then gone to my workshop built a dog trap, while the wife was defrosting a lekker steak....after the 2 hours of building my trap and waiting for the SPCA....i would have walked out and found out the dog has bitten a child or killed more of my ducks and the dog had moved away..

Well look on the bright side, atleast you would have had a nice steak to come home too.

Looks like the majority of the bile spouting commenters on FB are women.

We know most cyclists are men, and probably most hubbers then.

Note the difference in tone on the two forums.

Happy Friday, everybody!

This makes me think , I have a fairly wild golden retriever that keeps attacking and killing plants in my garden .I also have small children ,what if his taste changes from plant life to humans .at least I wont create massive social media reaction as I don't have families picnicking on my property

That would piss above vegan off massively, your golden lab might get run over by Ford Raptor, because plants rule! Better put him away in his kennel..... just make sure its approved by the SPCA first.

Dog lovers BORED is more accurate...

Fixed.

That's a solid distance, I'd say well over 100metres from the restaurant, and out of sight... really not sure what more people could expect?

I know in a perfect world the FacePalm naysayers would have ridden in on their High horses, lassoed the feral dog, and taken it walkies 15km's up to the Greek Church where it could have tucked into a laced Rump steak before slowly going to the light while a hundred angellic butterflies fluttered by... but hey, we don't live on hollywood movie sets :whistling:

Why is the farm workers lines drawn in black? Is this a Freudian slip? I'm offended!
