Chaoyang tyres?

I have been using the Viper tyres on the road bike for quite a while now. I train and race with the 25's. They do the job just as good as any of the more expensive brands. I will keep on using them as they are great value for money.

The Hornet I have in front is now nearing 6000km and still going strong. Zippering at the back had to be tossed after 5000km, the plug it got at 3000km came out. These do go the distance.

I also have the Zippering at the back, and I am very happy with it. Did about 700km's off road with it, still going strong, only one puncture but the sealant did it's job.

I have just put on the Viper shark skin tyres on my road bike

Foldable 25c

Looks good

Planning on doing the Argus on them

But... on the side wall of the tyre it is printed that the max weight is 65kg? At recommended tyre pressure - which is 7 bar max

what does this mean?

I do believe so. They're a good foldable Tyre, with the same number of TPI as the big brand foldable.

I'm assuming, at that price, you're looking at sportsmans warehouse. You can get them cheaper if you look around.

They're not ever going to be as puncture proof as gatorskins, but they are good tyres and nothing to be afraid of. Can't think of comparitive tyres in that price range.

Thanks, i see those shops are not in Gauteng, but i'll check if they can deliver.

I also need to look at new tyres for my MTB, i wanna go tubeless soon.

how are the hornet for tubeless ?

Been running the same hornet on the rear for a year now. Joberg2C, B&B, Sabie 2 day, York Enduro, Mankele weekends and some odd and end races here and there. Plenty RedBarn rides.

I would say it is about 60% now.

The grip of the Hornet is ok for a rear. I would not use it for a front.

The tyre is slow wearing...

The sidewall protection is up there with the big brands

As is the weight....

Fitting the tyre is easy...

The only damage is a plug that is still in after a couple of months.

For the price you can't go wrong here!

I will buy again...
