Adidas Terrex Trail Cross

Looks like the new Trail Cross (SL) has a much more breathable upper (almost like running shoes) as opposed to the previous version.

Seems like most shops now only stock the Sl version.

Or am I not searching in the right places?

I got the SL. So it's not a different model it's all there is for 2016. It is their upgraded version if you will... I waited a good 2 weeks because Adidas South Africa said only Due South brought them in and the only Due South that had them was Canal walk. Now I see you can get them online at Adidas.co.za and only in black/black. The toe box is roomy but it's an incredibaly sturdy shoe. Why do you want the previous version?

PM me for for more details or whatnot or go to your local Due South and pay R30 to courier it to you so you can see in real life.

I quite like the uppers on those.

Are you riding with yours as well or only using it to hike / walk in?

Mostly casual walking, dont do as much hiking as I used to.

I have done a few easy cycles. They grip well, not much worse than my 5/10 low impacts.

It is a good alternative considering the price.

Also they are comfy!!

The trail cross sl is very good, nice stiff sole (relatively speaking), very tough shoe and grippy, only drawback is the sole isn't flat but if your pedal pins are long enough its all good.

Posting this on all the flat pedal threads:

DueSouth have a 25% off all Adidas stuff TODAY ONLY

Use promo code DSDEAL (you must type the letters uppercase)

Adidas Men's Terrex Trail Cross SL R1599 less R399(25%) R1200

http://www.duesouth.co.za/pdp/Adidas-Men-s-Terrex-Trail-Cross-SL-Shoe-Black/_/A-194614AAAH5

Enjoy!!

Just FYI I found the Trail Cross SL to be true to size length wise and with nice wide toe box(wider than Adidas shoes typically are), they were a slight touch too narrow for the first week and now they have worn in they are perfect. I have wide feet, I often find myself not being able to choose a shoe just due to them being too narrow so these are pretty roomy in the toe box.

Thanks for the FYI, really helped when choosing my size as I'm somewhere between a 10 and 11. I ordered a pair from Adidas for R1280 as the special at Due South is no longer valid. Link: https://shop.adidas.co.za/terrex-trail-cross-sl-shoes-122607.html

Anyone know where to get the Trail Cross Stealth Rubber shoes. Dues South nor Adidas online store have them anymore.

I'd be interested to know too. I recently bit the bullet and bought 5.10s but these could be a decent value alternative in the future. I'm hoping they will be adidas prices with 5.10 soles/grip.

I bought the normal Trail Cross from Due South. Brilliant value for money and awesome grip!! I use them on my trials bike as well as mtb with no issues

These shoes sold out like hot cakes when they got them in stock, and since then they haven't been in stock.

Got a pair. Can't fault them, although there are some signs of wear from the pedal pins, but I've no previous experience to compare durability.

They're also not listed on adidas.com anymore either, and now reside on adidasoutdoor.com. But there is no equivalent SA .coza site.

Been running Adidas shoes for years and love them. On my 3rd pair of Terrex Solos. This is the first pair with the 5.10 Stealth rubber...and that is my only complaint. I wear them basically every day and the Stealth rubber just doesn't last as long. It should be an option in the same way that Gore-Tex is an option. For normal daily use, the Stealth rubber is totally pointless. Still love the shoes, though!

As for Merrel, I received a pair of Merrel shoes as a prize some years ago and they were honestly shite! They lasted barely 6 months under the same circumstances that every pair of Adidas I have owned over the last 15 odd years has lasted 18-24 months. If I'd paid for them, I would've been seriously disappointed.
