Wonder if it's OK if I were to use my disc brake equipped CycloCross type bicycle with drop handles?

You only allowed that bike if you finish after us roadies, you can also finish with us BUT if you finish infront of us  :cursing:  :cursing:  :cursing:

A moral/ethical question rather than a technical rule in this case I think ... won't stop some guys though I'm sure ;)

A few days/weeks back the brother of a famous SA cyclist was out testing an E-Bike and then uploaded his ride to Strava. Somebody did chirp him though.

Those days are coming where E-Bikes will own all of the KOM on Strava

You are allowed to use any time of self-propelled bicycle for an Audax; Monster-Cross, Cyclocross, MTB (26/29/SS/SSR/1x11/nxm), road (drop or straight handles), TT (UCI & ITU/ATU legal), recumbent...

A bunch of us are planning on doing this 200km race RIDE

Wait how many bicycles will be there ?? So it's a Race ??

See you guys on the 21st May.

Dude, you at some stage refused to do any ride that appeared to be "long" (aka 130-150+), now look at you; riding to Durbs, even doing Audax rides. You've come a long way racing snake, a l-o-o-n-g way indeed! Well done!

EDIT(1) : Doesn't seem to work, will try and fiddle around with it.

EDIT (2): I have made them public, tru searching on GC for a course named "200km BRM Lido (1st Leg)"

Weather prediction for the weekend? Proes cold?

Long term for Sunday looks good with sunny skies, but only 20 degrees midday.  Start will be chilly.

Have you had a look on Garmin Connect for the 4 courses i made? Are they there?

200km BRM Lido (1st Leg) = Start to Checkpoint 1

200km BRM Lido (2nd Leg) = CP 1 to CP2

200km BRM Lido (3rd Leg) = CP 2 to CP3

200km BRM Lido (4th Leg) = CP 3 to Finish

EDIT: GC Course name highlighted in blue

ICM - it's fairly easy once you get used to it.

Column A is the distance of the current section, B is the section description, E is the cumulative KM.

so

Leave the Lido and turn left, and then left at the robots.

400m after leaving the Lido turn right onto the R550

Stay on the R550 to the stop street at the T junction (SSTJ). Turn left and then turn right at the R61. The right turn is 15.9km from the TR onto the R550, and 16.3km cum

I normally plot these directions as a course in Garmin Connect and load it as a route on my Garmin.

I haven't read the rules and regulations but i seriously hope you guys have marshals on bikes along for the ride - that road from Heidelberg to Deneysville is no joke with trucks and there is no shoulder and bad road surface.

Then coming into Deneysville just before the dam wall they are rebuilding the road and when i went through there 2 weeks back it was single lane stop and go for a few kilometers - at some sections they had built a temporary dirt road running alongside the normal tar road... take plenty of spare tubes gents that second leg is going to be more parix-roubaix style riding

Thanks for the heads up, will need to exercise extreme care there, and for the entire ride I guess.

Extra tubes it is.
