Sidmouth Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Im looking to upgrade my fork.these are my options, Pike or Revelation, I'm a cross country rider, 97KG, I fear the Pike would just be overkill with 35mm stanchions.any advice

Headshot Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 You will actually notice a massive difference especially on a 29er methinks. They just steer and brake better than a thiner stanchioned fork. Saw a Tallboy with one on it a few weeks ago. Looked perfect.

I have a 160mm travel RC - so take my opinion under advisement - I still say it's a great fork - wish I could have that performance on my 100mm XC fork

Sid, at 97kg's you are not a fat rider, but a lean and mean rider that has alot of power and mass to plow through the trail ... if for 75grams you can get a stiffer fork with far more tuning features, go for it I say!

Brawler Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Pike also uses the new charger damper whereas the Rev still uses motion control. The two are miles apart. If money isn't an issue I'd take the Pike anyday.
Tony datoy Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 If money isn't an issue, I'd take the Pike. I fitted a 130mm 2016 Revelation in diffusion black on my Pyga 110, purely because a Pike was 6k more. At 53 I don't do anything too extreme so I guess the Revelation will suffice. I'm probably going to kick my arse one day.T
