You should be more worried about whether the bike you have would still fit you in a year or 2...You're 14. You'll still be growing for a couple years. Considering that it makes more sense for you to have a medium than a small anyways. You have an awesome bike. Its fine for you. As is. Enjoy it.

What he says.Your bike is killer dude. Keep it. Ride it. Love it

Well I'm afraid even the light, expensive DH bikes will still proportional to your weight be damn heavy.  It's strange that you were patient enough to save up for the bike, but now that you have it...

I'm actually starting to wonder if you're ok. Its as if you are deliberately seeking a problem where none exists. You're 14 and you ride a morewood izumi. Most of us here were frothing over bikes like that we only saw in magazines at 14. Whats more is you've earned it. That is quite an achievement at your age. You should be stoked. Not disappointed. Spend less time posting and more time riding. Less time talking to us and more time talking to girls.

I'll shut up in that case

Good thinking .... as you are just looking for excuses about nothing.

You may weigh 40kg ... but remember that Not a single DH bike on the market weighs less than 16kg. 99% of DH bikes weigh in the 17 to 18kg region - with bikes like the Scott Gambler weighing up to 20kg. .... You have to go to the pros bikes to get below 16kg.

Not even my Carbon Devinci Wilson with full trick lightweight components weighs less than 16.8kg.

Only a top of the range Enduro bike will be around 12kg, and even that is light - my Santa Cruz Nomad Carbon with light components weighs 12.6kg.

As I said in my last post - there are 12 year olds racing bikes that are similar to yours. The dude on the Mongoose ECD is racing with Marzocchi Monster T forks which alone weigh about 6kg. And he just gets on and rides ....

So some advice ....

As Popcorn said - you have a fantastic bike for your age - and you earned it yourself!!!

That in itself is an achievement ....

BUT - just be happy with it as when we were 14 we were riding on Hardtails with elastomer suspension.... Not Fancy full suspension downhill bikes. See the pics of me racing National DH in Paarl in 1995 when I was 14 .... compare that bike to yours ....
