I was looking for something similar a while back, without success.

Closest thing I could find was double-sided velcro, but they are only about 5mm wide

Go to a fabric or craft store, get some velcro strips and make some yourself... Will be FAR cheaper than anything you can get from a stockist, if you can find them.

what is the best way to join them ? stitching probably?

Didn't those get supplied with the Yellow Racetec Timing chip? The one you tied around your ankle with those straps...

Try the PPA office or Racetec?

Probably... You do get a heat activated glue that looks (and works) like double sided tape. After you positioned all the parts you run an iron over it to activate the glue. Just don't go crazy on the temp settings on synthetic material

Could try the events/audio industry as some use them for their cabling. There are some in your area Midrand... Try Sound and Light City : 011 312 1001 : Unit 4 Midrand Junxion, Old Pretoria Road, Midrand

You can get variations on this but try High Flyer Hobby shop opposite the quarry in Lyttleton.

Gets used holding batteries in model aircraft and cars.

I do have some you can get for free. Not sure how long they are but close to 15cm long.

Rooihuiskraal area. Work in Sunninghill.
