I ride their on my own often, so news of this incident is quite disconcerting. I always ride with ice id bracelet, and with an old drivers license and my medical aid card in my bike pouch.

The new speed bumps are both irritating and dangerous. I wonder what made them do it?

Also have ICE setup on my phone, there's a nifty trick for medics ig your phone is locked. They can just touch 'Emergency' on the bottom left of the screen.

If you've filled out all your emergency info on the phone settings, it'll show up there without them needing to unlock your phone.

Suppose for good measure it's an idea to screen grab that print and laminate to keep inside the phone cover.

Thanks that's great. We all have these fancy devices and only use half or less of the functions.

Lots of good idea's lads thanks. I carry a locked phone, stupid really no point.

Have ordered an ice ID bracelet though..must chase it up.

The emergency thing on your phone is a excellent feature than probably lots of us don't use or even know about . Doing mine right now.

Hope the guys recovers ok and held up soon. Not the way to end of a good sat morning ride.

I also wore my ICE 24/7... and managed to wear the writing off it in less than 4 months. Not wearing it at all now, but should get my a in gear and have it engraved properly. They should look at engraving rather than printing

please setup multiple ice contacts - in case they are not available - also - if not directly related then make sure they have a limited power of attorney to enable them to make medical decisions for you in case a relative is not available.

Only problem is that your phone might get damaged,so good to have backup numbers stuck to the bike

Only problem is your bike might get taken by aliens, so good to have backup numbers tattooed on your forehead, but you could fall and graze that off too..... Few things are infalabe, well the bible is, but few human things are, but we try our best.

I ride alone often and during the week in the dark. Use Garmin "LiveTrack" so my wife can track me the whole ride and have ICE bracelet on wrist. Life360 always running on my phone as a backup. My wife knows my routes I ride and where I should be at different times so when she wakes up she checks if I'm around the right spot. Also never give it full gas when on my own and avoid very remote/technical stuff.

Hope the dude is ok. Hate hearing these stories.

I am not gonna empower my wife's aunty's brother's second cousin's mother in law to switch off the ventilator.
