I think DH, regardless of the steepness is an all over body workout so the same reasons apply here as they do to sprinting et al.

 

There is also that self preservation thing I recon too. We boys just say - "lets hit that" and afterwards worry if it was a good idea or not...

Did any of you watch the 4 X finals.. hell that is brutal.. so many crashes.
