Morning Lionel.

 

I have a lefty 2.0. About 3 months ago it went for a service as it was leaking oil. All fixed under warrantee.

 

Now with this bulletin out I asked my LbS to please find out when I can send my fork.

 

They advised me that the 2spring mod was already done when it came in for the leaky seals. Could this be possible?

Morning Meent. I spoke to my LBS regarding the 2 Spring. Its not available in SA yet. There was another kit which they used to solve the solo air issue. However its not the 2 spring kit. So they did an upgrade on your Lefty but its not the 2 Spring upgrade. The 2 spring kits will only arrive in SA in October. This is the info I received.

Hi All,

 

Yes, we will be offering the new 2 Spring piston as an upgrade to the current solo Air spring fitted to current forks. This upgrade will be done as part of regular lefty servicing. There will be no cost for the new piston, only the normal labor charge for the service.

 

We are waiting for our first shipment of the new kit and will let Lefty Consumers know as soon as they are available locally.

Could you let us Capetonians know who are authorized to do this work?

Have 2 Leftys but one with the boot so that one does not qualify .

My Scalpel does qualify though .

 

We will be rolling the program out though your local Cannondale dealer. Once the parts arrive is RSA will will advise accordingly.

Lets hope enough stock will be ordered - usually these things ends with ...but the supplier is out of stock...

 

Will it be possible to pre-order or reserve these kits (I have two shocks) before distribute it to the service centres  / bike shops?

 

Wonder if my local bike shop (as an authorised  Cannondale dealer) will be able to fit this part?

If not, this will result an expensive service / courier cost / week or so without the shock, in return for n small free part? (spring)

Just bear in mind that you do not need to replace the spring. You can get it from your Cannondale dealer and keep it until such time that your Lefty needs a service.

Okay so just to clarify...lefty models 2013 and onwards are lefty 2.0? Which can be upgraded? I though the lefty 2.0 is found on the new F-Si bikes only?

Am I correct that my  Lefty PBR 90 29 shock qualify for this.  It is the one without the rubber boot, but not the 2.0?

Negative.

 

Lefty 2.0 says 2.0 left of the stem. And the axle is also offset towards the front.

 

Leftys from 2013 without the boot is a lefty hybrid. Also eligible for the upgrade.

My Lefty(s)   don't have the boot, but also not say 2.0 / work with the OPI stem

 

Do they qualify for this free upgrade?

It does Mongoose! We are expecting our upgrade kits to arrive at the end of this month from Lionel.
