Are the white n blue worthwhile doing? Always only ever done the black...

Wonder if it's worth it doing the black with something else on Sunday...if I can convince ppl to try that ;)

The white has some awesome long descents and also has an adventure feel to it. It's good

hardly ever get out there ....

done the white on the old SS 29'er when the trails were still "new" .... was a blast.

did the black on the old crackondale Moto  ...... was a blast

running theme here is that WW is a blast?

Any Hoe, hope to do Hoogies this weekend with the trail Z thrown in and intend having a blast!

Seeing the topic is still hot - a word of warning and I will create a new topic for it as well. One of our marshals (an experienced cyclist) took a nasty fall on Welvergenoegd aka trail Z. He sustained head injuries and ended up on a part of the route where there is no cellphone reception. I'm not sure how they evacuated him from the trail but he is evidently now out of hospital and on the mend.

The trail is remote and while some people infer that the trail is a doddle in the park, it is not a trail you want to end up being incapacitated on.

so

Don't ride on your own unless you're happy to spend a few hours baking in the sun waiting for help.

Don't risks chasing strava records - at best you'll be a stravasshole and at worst you could end up dead or paralysed (yip, it happens)

Rapunzel, as far as I know, Eugene fell on the way back down to the carpark, after the front washed out in a berm just before the stile that is before the widow maker. He was found by the window maker.

Ie he didn't fall on Trail Z at all, buy a rather innocuous section of trail that he knows very well.

Eish, either way, having had my disaster at the Meerendal pump track which is about as scary as a dinner plate, I think the 'out of signal' is the thing that matters. Hope he is OK!

My buddy rode Z yesterday and says it is just awesome, so I need to get there ASAP.

Oh absolutely fun. Not saying it's not.

Oh and the cell signal on Hoogies is quite good. I quite often get email notifications as I'm suffering up the climbs

Agreed with your first statement but not as much on the 2nd. People have their reasons for riding the trails they do and if they have the same smile after riding a green trail as you do after riding a double black, that doesn't make them any less of a mountain biker in my eyes.

Hear hear....

Ag, that's just cos the signal can't keep up on the downs. #mayshond

Blue doesn't have too much climbing and goes into a really beautiful part of the kloof.

I'm not very fit but I do blue followed by black. Haven't done white yet.

I haven't managed to ride blue in full yet, some very rocky sections where momentum and speed is required where I've always ended up moving a large rock or two with my front wheel forcing me to get off.

Not too difficult but a "fair" challenge :)
