TALUS Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Over here in Italy big Tom is becoming very popular,I did a race with 12000 Italian riders today. The passion from riders and spectators is UNREAL!I really hope an Italian can win one for the spectators (not sure Nibali is up to the task).

Barend de Arend Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Can someone explain to me why Dumoulin stopped everyone after Quintana fell? As far as I'm concerned, descending is a skill just like climbing, sprinting. If you can't descend properly and crash, that's your problem. Absolutely no reason for the peloton to stop. It's actually ridiculous. I can understand if they had stopped the other day with the motor bike incident, but today was just poor bike handling by Quintana. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I can see a few potential reasons. TD wants to win with his legs. That way the win is never in doubt. TD has a relatively weak team, and wants some good will in case he's got a mechanical when isolated in a high mountain stage. TD doesn't like to see others crash. TD is a nice guy. Some combination of the above.
Barend de Arend Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Just shake my head at times .... That was dangerous. They're lucky no-one crashed. This was at least as bad as some of the motorbike antics we've seen recently.

'Dale Posted May 22, 2017 Author Posted May 22, 2017 Estonian rider Tanel Kangert (Astana) has been forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia after breaking his elbow in a shocking crash on Sunday’s stage 15.
'Dale Posted May 22, 2017 Author Posted May 22, 2017 Meanwhile, in Basque countryVictory in final stage of for this climber Emakumeen XXX Bira Well done especially coming back from a serious injury after crashing into a parked moto! With one stage remaining in the Emakumeen XXX Bira, it appeared the Basque race was going to be won by Australian national champion Kat Garfoot (Orica-Scott). Her Orica-Scott team had dominated the race, winning three of the race’s four stages, and held the top three places on the overall podium. But fourth-placed Ashleigh Moolman (Cervelo-Bigla), at 34 seconds down, had other ideas.

Long Wheel Base Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Estonian rider Tanel Kangert (Astana) has been forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia after breaking his elbow in a shocking crash on Sunday’s stage 15.That crash was hectic. It could have easily been A LOT worse. I want to watch another replay again but it almost looked like that sign actually spun right around. If he had hit that thing at just the right angle it could easily have sliced his arm off. There was so much furniture in that stage. Those traffic circles where insane, Every time they went through one someone was bunny hopping or swerving something.
Long Wheel Base Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 What was up with Bob's "wing flap" in the sprint? Carlton Kirby was loving it. LOL what ever the theory, it worked.

s14phoenix Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 So 2 things confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt (although I personally thought so already) : 1. TD is ALL class. 2. NQ has no class. Racing is racing but in the same breath - being a douche is being a douche. my 2c obviously but I think shared my many many more now. Hope TD wins the Giro outright now - no more waiting for NQ.

Thor Buttox Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Nairo and his driver are both tossers. Eish, some hectic crashes yesterday. Glad noone was horribly hurt but hope the gnome has some serious road rash after that sprint move.
