Rigid or suspension

Also, if you really are pushing the limits on your bike I would recommend a steel rigid fork or an 'on one' type carbon one with a alu steerer and crown.

The monocoque ones, even the no rider weight limit ones, do not enjoy continual big hits .

As you guys mentioned Giant XTCs and rigids, I feel this is appropriate.

Fixie, off road...? I'd be asking advice on that decision before deciding rigid or suspension [emoji849]

It's actually quite fun. Do a section of the old Emperors route on mine often.

Wow that XTC is pretty now just turn it into a fixie

somehow I can't see a fixie off road being easy to ride on anything approaching technical.

bit off-topic... but, I see the new Giant XTC has the option to run SS or geared and allows fitting of 29er or 27.5+ (3" wide) tyres... you'll need two wheels sets.

But it's still a Giant.

One thing I am noticing very often is how people think fixie and single speed are the same thing and that in itself creates so much confusion

Rigid.

Your technical ability will thank you in a couple of years.

If you do it right, you will skop gat downhill in no time.

luckily I know the difference... can't see jumping a fixie as a healthy activity...
