nochain Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Yah, Aru is no Grand tour Novice, he is very accomplished at it, and he has shown clearly he is not afraid to go out on a limb and attack. So if you give him enough space you wont see him again till the podium, and then, as yesterday, its too late. I recon he is an exhilarating rider, reminds me of a younger 'Berto.I think 2 or 3 years ago he was seen as someone that will end up chasing Quintana..One of the next generation contenders. Now I think he has gone past Quintana and has shown to be a much more rounded GC rider.I struggle to get an liking to the guy but he is very talented that for sure!!

But before PS was DQ'ed we all thought it is highly unlikely that they would DQ him... Still wouldn't put more than R50 on it... if they do get a favourable decision they could use that to take UCI to court for $$ Although the UCI CYCLING REGULATIONS provide unambiguously that it is mandatory to hear a rider before any disciplinary decision is taken (Rule 12.2.006: „The Commissaires Panel may judge the matter only if the offending party has had a chance to defend his point of view […]“), Peter Sagan has not been given an opportunity to explain to the „Commissaires Panel“ his point of view. Bora's statement https://www.bora-hansgrohe.com/en/news/pressemeldungen/presseinformation-zum-tour-de-france-ausschluss-von-peter-sagan/10983587 If they find that the UCI didn't follow due process UCI are going to have big problems. I say go Bora..even though it would be near impossible for him to come back to the race even if they were successful with the CAS. at least they are standing up to the UCI Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
'Dale Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Reminds me of Tony Martin who went head first into a hedge during last season Somewhere in Belgium, I thinkHe was unscathed fortunately.

Jeez he makes a habit of it. I can remember it happening to him in the '14 Amstel Gold Race too.
shaper Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Green jeresey holder Arnaud Demare (FDJ) finished fourth in the intermediate sprint (km 135) 1'05” behind the escapees, ahead of Michael Matthews (Sunweb). With his 45th day in the yellow jersey today, Chris Froome keeps trailing Jacques Anquetil, who spent 50 days (and 52 stages because of half-stages) in yellow between 1957 and 1964. Only Miguel indurain (60 days) and the incomparable Eddy Merckx (111) have done better.

Controversial figure of Armstrong not on that list can be let go (at least until Friday), but Bernard Hinault?
