There is absolutely no extra weight on him!

Only watched yesterday's stage this morning. Feeling disappointed in Meintjes losing more time on Yates, even if he gained a place in the GC standings.

What happened to Landa in the last 500 meters? It seems he free wheeled to the finish and didn't show interest in the stage win.

He was waiting for his team leader   :D

Frustrated today watching The Cheese. Unable to press the attack close to the top when Yates fell off, then allowed Yates to come back on the down, then fell asleep and let Yates get away on the flat. Yesterdays HARD earned few sec's wiped with a much easier downish break. Eish.

Yes was shouting at the tv big time...that last 500m to the top and first couple of k's on the way down was critical..The other riders had a bit of a slowdown and that allowed Yates to get back on..Meintjes just had to go to the front for 5min max and that could have been it for Yates.

Me thinks Sky needs to start worrying about Uran..only rival that can possibly have a big day on the TT bike.If he somehow gets time 30 or 40 sec in the Alps he can win this thing.

Some pics from Thursdays Stage 12  . . . .

Find a spot with a view. We were on a climb on the route but we could also see down across a field to where they would come from.

Set up Camp

Wait for the Publicity Caravan to come through so you can get "free stuff" - we got loads :-)

The Caravan . . . continued.

When the race came through I didn't try and take photo's. I left the camera videoing and concentrated on shouting. Will post some video links later :-)

After we'd watched Stage 12 (twice!) we jumped in the car to drive to our hotel in Saint-Girons ready for tomorrows start.

Part of our drive was on the course they'd just used and then we swung off north-east where they had ridden south-east. Shortly after we left the days course we passed the Fabio Casartelli memorial on the Col de Portet d'Aspet. Fabio died of head injuries at this point after crashing during Stage 15 of the Tour de France back in 1995 while riding for Team Motorola.

The following day, the Peloton let his team mates ride ahead of the pack and finish together as a mark of respect to their fallen team mate.

https://youtu.be/t8KtRAS5dMg

"His Motorola team continued the Tour de France, crossing the finish line of the next stage first, side by side in Pau. The Peloton followed behind, riding slowly. The Société du Tour de France awarded the stage prizes as normal, and the riders donated all the money won that day to a fund established for his family. The Tour later matched that amount, and thousands of individuals contributed to the fund"

It is a peaceful place.

Will Tommy V keep it out there I wonder?
