I know it's all (well mostly) about results, but basically they went Outsurance on the "Africa's Team"...they're going for stage wins so what would they be happy with, 2?

Weird team but then again I am not their team picker.

They don't really have a GC guy so they need to go for headlines like guys in the break. Maybe a lucky stage or 2. Not so?

I get in trouble when I disagree with anything DDD does.. so ek se niks.

No reason to disagree on anything and everyone is entitled to an opinion. its how the world works.

Just curious with what the goals are. When Cav is on fire he is lightning but thought they would field a more "all over" team

Hence Cummings and Venter as mentioned with Pauwels. Not so?

I had a conversation with a friend about this.. that they don't seem to have a plan.. again we can see all eggs in the Cav basket for an early yellow and stages with Cummings. ..

Argh I am not excited about the team....besides for Cummings and Twait.

And Jaco, I like him, rate him and is a work horse and very unselfish. deserves to be in the team imho.

Do I put a #doesntread or #kindatrolling here? not sure how it works tbh.

Just asking. I Mean't I'm not an expert. I don't really know the ins & outs of the team. Just Cav & Renshaw I guess.

Can looks happy...

Stage wins with Cummings and possibly with Venter who is "Im going int the break  to day" king.

EBH for a good solid 5-10th on sprint stages

Renshaw cause he is Cav's mate

RJvR to lead Cav out

Eisel to drag Cav around and Cav doesn't go anywhere without him

Pauwels to do ok in mountains and top 5 on KoM jersey if that is a goal.

Weird team but then again I am not their team picker.

Whats Scott and Jaco gonna do then?? :P

I feel very proud at the moment about this:

And not very proud about this, only two Africans:

Why?

It does not mean an African team must field mostly African riders, the TDF and international cycling is exactly that nowadays.......INTERNATIONAL

We need to be competitive and there is a lot at stake, this is not a government department

IMO they are wasting 3 spots with accommodating Cav.

And Cav just isn't 100% fit not .. only 1 weeks racing in the last how many months and he really didn't look great last week.... maybe he will prove me wrong again.. [emoji53]

When you look at that team - and anyone can correct me - Im not to sure what their plan is other than sprint stages with Cav and possible break away wins with Cummings.

Is Cav now 100% better ready to win stages at the Tour? He was ill with EBV not that long ago, if he really was sick its 1 hell of a turn around time to get better to full peak stage winning fitness. I really hope he is and the EBV wasn't really EBV.

I am pretty excited about both teams, its the team with the most South African's in it. If you don't send riders that can win you WT points to the Tour, then you wont be WT next year. Unless you buy more non-SA riders with WT points. I am sure if it was down to gees they would fill the team with Saffas around Cav.

You have to ask, which SA rider in DD is better than Eddy B, Eissel and Renshaw. (And didn't do Giro and sounds like ribbons.)

Edit: Read how UCI points are calculated.

Cav has 1338 UCI points, thats the most for DiData only Nathan Haas and Eddy B are on the top 100 list for DD, so need to take him to the tour and give him plenty of spots as support.
