Isn't he riding in support of NQ though?

Was wondering the same thing. He supposed to be but then things could change. NQ was definitely off his best ... or the rest was just better then in the past. Surprising considering he's been training to win both.

As I looked at it I thought that it also favours NQ.  It will be more work for Froome as he would normally use the TT to cement his lead.

The double of Val and NQ could prove decisive. Froome will have a hard time dealing with them both. But ... wonder if NQ have exerted himself too much in the Giro?

Yes essentially that is what is being said in the build up but seeing how NQ was not near his previous shape in ether Giro, I don't see him doing a miraculous form finder in 6 weeks to come out hammering the TDF. He went deep at Giro to win it, that costs a lot of pennies. Where NQ has always been good is his long range sustainable attacks, he never had them this year. thats to me was a telling sign. You cannot go from Giro to Tour no and win both, those days are over. the gap between the 2 is to short compared to past.

Valverde would need to sit wheel on the climbs and essentially attack at last opportunity to sprint type win when you look at the stages. Last years Tour never suited him and he rode support fort NQ and look at his result. On Huez alone he was a level above. he came past us on bend 13 hammering a monster gear.

I really see the roles reversed and AV taking it.

Porte also is a huge danger, his early season form is insane and he has been seeing a head shrink which seems to be working.

Essentially in a perfect world I want Contador to win it, but Valverde is who I would go to the bank with.

Yip.

Too strong teams an accurate effort-measurement with power meters and training data these days make back-to-back Grand Tour victories virtually impossible.

Although Froome Dawg came oh so close in 2016.

The Giro was also full of very strong GT contenders.

Making it one of the hardest Grand Tour's Ive seen for a while hey.

Me and you start at the bottom of the log and work our way up as the tour progresses ... just like last year !! :)

Start at the bottom and work our way up to the dizzy heights of "somewhere in the Middle" . . .

Other than Froome..right now Porte is the most complete rider in the peloton.

On a good day he can TT and Climb with the best.Only Froome can match or better him in both.If Porte has no bad days I think he will be the biggest rival to Froome we have seen to date.

Contador and Valverde to be the outside favourites.

Those 4 I think will make the racing this year.Let see what will happen in Dauphine..The lineup is crazy good for that race.

Froome needs to keep it upright. Porte needs to not have a bad day. Bertie is always ready to surprise us and Valverde may just be consistent enough to be good.

Let's see . . . .

So I see Sky will be wearing white jersey's for tour.

I've often wondered if the black kit doesn't contribute to fatigue and dehydration on hotter days.

Apparently it's cooler than white

It bends my brain

But yah

Eish.

Brain bender for sure.

Maybe my next car should be black.

Perhaps I won't get as tired while driving it.[emoji12]
