Can clearly see that the elbow is being used for balance - ja right

How many people balance like that on a bike ??

Tried it a couple of times actually, and it works just fine... most notably when i have mud-gunked cleats and the slow sideways topple ends with me balancing, if for just a nanosecond, on my elbow as me and my bike crash ignominiously to the ground in a heap. not sure that's TdF-worthy though... Elbow hasn't worked properly since come to think of it... and for balance, I've done it BOTH sides

Simply put Sagan brought it upon himself - it seems like he had it coming.

DQ harsh but what option was there.

What I find strange is the drone footage which shows the incident clearly is nowhere to be found/seen.

It was the fault of the gunman behind the grassy knoll.......

Agree 100%, although that did look a lot more like a loss of balance compared with putting someone in the barriers with your change of line.

I see my video links not working... this one hopefully does. You'll note Cav is on Demare's wheel the whole time... Sagan picked the wrong wheel pretty much.

Cav lost Demare's wheel actually, he had his timing wrong, Sagan jumped for it.

The elbow was a reaction not a action. Even on a Sunday ride with mates, if you feel you are against each other, the elbow follows naturally to keep you upright.

This picture clearly shows Cavendish trying to squeeze through a gap that wasnt really there. He leans on Sagan. Sagan regains balance by using elbows up. Knees in etc.

I call Sagan not guilty of anything

I think whoever sticks their head out first of the GC riders today is going to get it chopped off... Wont be surprised if all attacks are pointless and neutralized almost immediately. with 2 fairly flat stages to come before the big 2 before the rest day - going today may be too early.

Will we perhaps see a win for a strong break away group?

I think some of the guys really have no choice..especially someone like Quintana. Not many hilltop finishes so they have to use it.

Dan Martin will also give it a big go..He looked very sharp the other day.

A quick question for those with better rider knowledge, and perhaps a bit of a conspiracy on my part, but does the DQ of Sagan help perhaps a frenchman like Demare or Bouhanni regain the green jersey for the French?

And everyone else.[emoji12]
