Broker Posted November 13, 2016 Share Saw the most horrific crash this morning in the Cradle. It happened about 30 meters in front of us. A monkey ran accross the road into a cyclist front wheel and caused a terrible fall. The cyclist looked badly injured. We assisted with traffic control but left when paramedic arrived. Monkey was dead in the roadDoes anybody know the cyclist and what his condition are. Wish you a speedy recovery Bonus

Ozzie NL Posted November 13, 2016 Share Aw manGet better Ossie' Thanks bud. Been told to just keep arm in sling but cycling buddies tell that can lead to a weak spot prone to breaking again and a plate is better. Trawled through hub thinking that would have been discussed before but caanot find a thread so guess will have to go see specialist

Avo Posted November 13, 2016 Share Also witnessed a terrible accident today by Valverde. One guy swerved to the side and the other hit him square "T-Bone". We stayed with him until a paramedic checked him and was confident it was safe to move him off the road. Hope he has a speedy recovery because he was properly knocked out for a while after the accident. Scary stuff!!
Lurch the stalker Posted November 13, 2016 Share Glad to hear the rider that was taken out by the monkey is alright. Thanks bud. I had the plate out and broke it again a while later and had it re-plated the same day.

Recovery is so much better with a plate.

NordicElf Posted November 14, 2016 Share That's hectic! Where was it?Those baboons at the top of the hill just past Cradle Restaurant, going towards Lion Rhino, always make me nervous.
Fat Boab Posted November 14, 2016 Share If it was the aftermath that I saw, the accident took place on the downhill back from the caves, just before the Kromdrai junction - where the weeping willows overhang the road. There was lots of ambulance-police car activity there at around 0900.....
