Nice and Aero, long range attack loading....

Former world champ Chantal Blaak steams away shortly after the Muur and just before the Bosberg taking a solo win.

Lots of debate around social media as the women's race had to be neutralised because the men's race was going slower than expected.

They only raced 123km and not 197. I think they should just end the discussion for all time and race all together and put both races' prize money in one pot, they get televised and see what happens :whistling: Plus the men race over 200km again today

From Cyclingnews:

44 kms to go ????????????

It's Bob Jungels (Deceuninck-QuickStep), Oliver Naesen (AG2R La Mondiale), Sebastian Langeveld (EF Education First), Davide Ballerini and Magnus Cort (Astana) against the peloton. The five leaders have precisely 1 minute in hand.

Lactic acid everywhere ????

40 secs to the break

30 kms to go

Will likely be a sprinters’ finalè

From Cyclingnews

Jungels, Naesen and company are putting up fierce resistance, and the peloton is struggling to make any real inroads into their advantage. The fast finisher in this peloton include Pascal Ackermann, Matteo Trentin, Dylan Groenewegen, Jasper Philipsen and Andre Greipel.

Yeah, he had major dental work done.

I'll always remember that Paris Roubaix when he was looking solid with Fabulous Fabian and then clipped a spectator.

Yes!

He missed out on the sprint after taking what seemed an age to reclip his foot back in!

The dental work was from a crash into some barriers if I remember correctly.

What a ride by Bob Jungels

Geez

Very strong ride..helped that his team lined up behind the guys trying to bring it back preventing any other team coming to the front to pull.

Smart riding as always by the team in blue

PS

Was Trentin DQ'd for the pavement shortcut or just tired..?

I was quite disappointed in the performance of Team Dimension Data's riders yesterday and expected a lot more from especially Michael Valgran (last years winner).

The team also performed under par in the UAE tour where they failed to get any rider in the overall  top 20 and Cav also never really challenged for a win in any of the sprints.

Lets hope for better days soon.

Couldn't agree more, both days I was desperately looking down among the groups for any DD riders, nobody in sight. In the past they had not much hope of overall so along with the french invitees would put some in the break for some media coverage, now that they are concentrating on the points and the positions they seem to be going all in for the overall, but so far its been disappointing. Thankfully EHB and Nizzolo have sneaked wins and Cummings looked like he had intent at Valencia. Lets hope they start firing soon - otherwise it will be up to Maincheese to win something. (Maybe they have a focus on the Argus....)
