Frosty Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I had a similar problem on Sunday - no power and cadence for the ride from Midvaal race track to the Circus on the way home from the Fast One. Not sure if the PM went to sleep, but I didn't do anything different after the coffee stop at the circus and it recorded the rest of the ride home. Something to look out for the next time - this was a Forerunner 735XT, on my arm - which I don't look at all the time.

Big up to the guys at navworld.The unit was fully swapped out for a brand new sealed box edge 520 unit without any hassle at all. unfortunately the issue of dropped data remains. even with the new unit, new HR strap, new batteries in my P1 power pedals. the unit once again disconnected all ANT+ sensors and my Phone (bluetooth), then a minute or so later reconnected everything. i can only assume its a software programming glitch? i will keep one eye on the unit and try see if there is any external factor i can find. not a big issue, but if this happens 18min into a 20min FTP test... that might be a bit frustrating.

Just bought a Garmin 520 and did my first ride with the new unit on Sunday.But now i'm struggling to get it to sync with strava... My activitity shows up on Garmin Connect and it shows that i'm linked to strava but it does not show the activity on my strava account?Anyone can assist? Thanks
Rudi Pollard Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 I have the same issue, but it is very difficult to predict when it will happen as it is not on every ride. On one of the international forumns I have read that it is the bluetooth connection pushing messages from your phone to the unit which causes this. I still have to switch it off in the 520 to test if this will indeed sort it out.
Flowspeed Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Had the same problem a few weeks ago after an upgrade.What worked for me was to unlink the device from my phone completely , and then re-link it with bluetooth, as if it was a new device
Lizzard30 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 I had a very similiar experience on sunday.. my elevation got stuck at 135m where my wife G500 was at 220m.. so i ended ride and uploaded it.. then started new ride. Well it got stuck again at 214m.. it was also my first time riding with the phone connected to the garmin while riding..when i arrived at home the unit updated vi bluetooth..

Spoke101 Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Instruction? Turn device off. Hold the Down key while powering on the device. Continue holding the down key until the “Factory Reset” prompt appears. Select OK to clear.

Furbz Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 Just to post back on this topic.today while Zwifting (ie indoor training) i had my power, speed, heart rate and bluetooth all drop then come back online a minute or so later.pretty much means its definitely a software issue. frustrating that this problem is still around
