That's where I went on Sunday.

And that's why I felt *** on Monday. And why it was my only meal of the day.

Had one of these bad boys on Sunday with fries. Washed it down with a Jack Black. It was delicious. As my learned friend Escapee said.....enjoy life.

I dont agree with Steers.

You only live once.

Drink beer if you want.

Eat when you want/What you want.

Train when you can and if it makes you happy.

Pizza

Burgers

Hot Wings

Nachos

I'll just do a commute on Friday and a biggish road ride on Sunday. Therefore Sans guilt.

Reckon I'll reward myself with one too... post Sundays running Marathon.

And it's also not the worst meal in the world if you skip the chips

How is the Vegetarian diet going ?

I started experimenting with a vegetarian diet since end of December.

For me the most difficult part about the whole experiment is the social aspect.

I might extend my experiment to 3 months, currently weighing around 72 kg so for weight loss I don't think I will see a dramatic difference.

The experiment is more about performance gains and health benefits.

i've been vegetarian for about 17 years now. No issues with the social aspect, most places cater for vegetarian. I have client lunches quite often and never had issues, some healthy options out there also. Doesnt always have to be pizza's and burgers.

So my visit to the dietitan last week was more about performance gains and and not soo much weight loss. I lost 20+kg prior to this and not too phased about my weight now at 85kg.

My new meal plan has a ton more of food. When i looked at it I said I am going to gain weight quickly but been on it for a week now and I haven't gained anything.

A lunch for me could be

2 brown wraps

150g soya strips

2 tsp olive oil

2 cups of salad or 1 cup of veg

and then dinner would be

1 cup brown rice

3 soya burger patties

2 tsp olive oil

2 cups of salad or 1 cup of veg

I hae quite a few options so don't get bored of eating the same thing, snacks are simple dried fruit or fresh fruit which I always enjoyed. Will see how it improves my riding and recovery in the weeks to come.

Have some nachos to start - just to get you in the mood. Maybe finish the meal with one of the designer shakes. Enjoy the marathon.

Isetech, gotta be honest, it's pretty hard to help you along on this journey as you seem hell bent on going against the grain on most modern thinking (excuse the pun) and pretty much ignore all given advice in any case.

You admit that this whole thing is a long term process, yet delay on getting started? Insist on finishing all the x-mas goodies in the pantry? Try convince the rest of us there is nothing wrong with eating a loaf of bread a day? It doesn't make any sense to me... talking about losing weight is one thing, but you've gotta walk the walk. Enough with the excuses  ;)

i made a few mistakes last year...for example reaching my goals too early and not starting new ones straight away...which resulting in loosing focus for a while...i dont think is all bad...sometime you just need a break...the problem is not stepping back in where you left off...this is where i believe there  is a problem...once you in motion and heading in the right direction... its easy...taking the first step is the biggest hurdle.

a question to others who have been following weight loss threads...how many people have wanted to start but just never got around to doing it for whatever reason ....and how many took a while to get motivated but once they started are doing it by the book...how many have already failed?

as i mentioned...i always finish what i start...so for now the bread and rolls will continue until wednesday...I am actually looking forward to Wednesday.

from Wednesday I will try something new...a good balanced eating plan...as i mentioned this year will not be about a number on the scale it is going to be more about getting rid of the fat around my waist make my riding experience on the drops a little more comfortable and riding longer distances...hoping to reach 160 km without cramping...the last thing...no more walking up hills...so a lot of hill climbing.
