im sure the same wouldnt be said by a lotto winner

I see that there is a young Poppie in the UK who won GBP1m on their lotto at the age of 18  and is now suing the Lotto because it "has ruined her life"

Cheers Im off, this thread has reached that point where the arguments are not about the original point anymore. Would prefer to use this energy else where.

Wow, someone replied to Patch in a manner to invoke negative feelings and he decided to leave the discussion... interesting turn of events...

lets try not derail the thread to much guys

Ok, so what's next?

As a cycling fraternity we mostly agree that Cycling SA stuffed up here.

I read earlier in the thread that someone spoke to CSA and they just said it was the best they could do with the available budget.

Where do we go from here? Do we request to see their budget for the Road Champs? What if they deny our request?

Any thoughts on how to turn this whole attitude of CSA around?

What information is publicly available for CSA, for example in terms of their budget and how it gets used?

Is it an attitude problem, or do they really have such a low budget? How much of their budget was spent on the new website, where the old one worked well enough? What was their budget for the SA Champs, how much went to traffic departments, etc.?

I think most of us agree that the medals could have been a lot better, or better yet something unique like that Munga one (there are lots of creative types out there who could have come up with something interesting that would not have cost an arm and a leg).

So, what prevented them from doing that? What are the facts and figures?

There are a few guys who here who are trying to engage with them.

I am sure that if/when CSA responds, they will come and disseminate the information here.

I will gladly debate something all day long, but I am getting fatigued by arguing points that are not relevant to the core point of the message.

I think CSA have certainly fallen short of honouring the winners.

As far as the medals are concerned I would like to suggest CSA approach some design schools and have a competition for the students to design and make medals for next year.  A couple of grand in prize money and a few pennies for materials would not break the bank.  I'm sure any student would be chuffed to see their design hanging around the neck of the next SA champ.  We have the talent, CSA just needs to make an effort!
