Andrew_Smith Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Hello all, It is Friday! So I just want to know for how much I can sell my chainring for in order to get a 30T one instead. Please see the following pictures: http://i.imgur.com/rD4rVSr.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/tUV55nX.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/uaaG8Tt.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/xzeNd8Y.jpg As you can see the chain itself is still in a very good condition, except for some signs of rust here and there. Also while I am on the topic of chainrings, would you guys recommend I stay with a Race Face NW or should I try another brand? I won't mind buying 2nd hand either, as long as the chainring is in a good condition. Thanks guys. ~ André
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Get a Kalbo or Rapide. And not much.

Andrew_Smith Posted February 17, 2017 Author Posted February 17, 2017 That ring is destined for the bin... Okay. Really strange, because the mechanic at Trek Cycles did not point it out to me after the service.
Allrounder Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 rapide.co.za http://www.kalbo.co.za/productsCR.html Both companies have nw rings and both are local. I have a kalbo 34 round on my bike with no problems or chaindrops so far.

But I am sure it should be fine.
Allrounder Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Indeed. But when I buy again I will buy a 34 oval.

Hilton. Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 In all seriousness, I have a Kalbo 34 NW oval, that I used for a few weeks. It worked great, with only 1 tiny gripe: Even with the supplied (2mm?) chainline spacers to correct the 1x10 chainline, it had some noise when on the largest rear sprocket. Didn't affect usage, just made a bit of sound. (The sound comes from the inner plates of the chain rubbing the chainring teeth at extreme angles. The new Sram 12 speed chains avoid this by smoothing (~chamfering) the inner plates of the chain links) I got the hard-anodised one, that is a sort of gold colour. Extremely durable.
Grease_Monkey Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 cSixx is also a very good option, some really awesome looking parts for a good price too!
