Road Bike Tyres

In short 25c are wider (roughly 25mm wide).

Some have different shapes where they are taller than what they are wide and some are wider than tall...

They provide less rolling resistance than 23c.

It makes you faster

Do it

25c

Why would a 25c have less rolling resistance than 23c?

Seems a bit counter-intuitive to me?

On one tyre range the wider tyre had a lower rolling resistance but that was actually a 28C.

For every other tyre tested the 23C has the lowest rolling resistance in the range.

But why let the facts get in the way of a bullshitters fallback story?

Go to rolling resistance test data to see the results.

In road tyres the Schwalbe Pro One in 23C in tubeless has the lowest rolling resistance at all pressures but the 28C is lower than some other brands 23C. Maybe there is confusion in reading the tables.

Think GCN did a video on it, but it's got to do with the contact profile and lower pressure.

Personally, I love my recent change to 25mm for the ride quality. I would however not have done the upgrade on a narrow rim as the mushroom effect combined with my 85kg weight would probably have not been so nice.

I ride 28C.  Just keep the pressures perfect and it's great.  My first few rides I over pumped and only once it was pointed out I could ride a little softer, life changer!

Oddly my One Pro's always felt slower than my GP4000s maybe I was just slower! :)

Bollocks.

On form on a Friday I see. So submit your scientific proof and link to the proof that you speak of

The pillar of all knowledge. Like the Sun newspaper.

If GCN says it it must be true. Never mind they are in the entertainment business and their only objective is to get mainstream media positions.

So are you just going to troll everyones views and comments on topics or are you going to make a positive contribution to the subject being discussed?

Read that somewhere

Could be bikeradar yes

A bit like...

Wider rims - more aerodynamic

yip and oval chainrings and aero profiled frames and components... all advances in tech actually.

we should all go back to18c tyres on sqr profile rims and steel frames cos that's how real men ride...

Oops, what did I start...

I'll have to read up on this, boggles my mind

It is Friday afterall.

I already know. I don't need to prove it to myself. But I also don't post bulldung as fact.

It is not the Sun newspaper but in the absence of any better authority I am inclined to use the data produced by Bicylerollingresistance.com.

It appears in a ceteris paribus test 28c has lower rolling resistance than a 25c tire which in turn is lower than 23c.

Where should I go to find the agrument to contradict this bulldung?

Came to post exactly this.

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of Friday!

AND....

I did say except for one tyre. Try find another example.

I for one do not use GP4000S.

AND the Schwalbe Pro One tubeless is lower then all three of the brand you quoted?

So who has the facts right?
